Bayern's Saibari sidelined after ankle surgery
Morocco international Ismael Saibari is set for a spell on the sidelines after undergoing surgery on Sunday on his right ankle, his club Bayern Munich said in a statement.
Saibari was subbed out in the 29th minute in Saturday's 2-2 home draw with Borussia Dortmund after colliding with visiting goalie Gregor Kobel.
Saturday's match, which left Bayern and Dortmund locked on 18 points atop the Bundesliga table, was costly for the injury-hit defending champions.
In addition to Saibari, Serge Gnabry and Michael Olise were also taken off injured.
Bayern said Sunday both Saibari and Gnabry would be out "for the time being", without specifying a return date, although German tabloid Bild said the Moroccan would likely miss three months.
Bayern did not provide an update on Olise, who was seen limping to the team bus after Saturday's draw.
The Bavarian giants are already without the injured Jamal Musiala and Luis Diaz, while coach Vincent Kompany has taken time away from the dugout as he continues to return from meningitis, which led to a five-day hospital stint.
Bayern travel to face Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday before returning for an away match against Mainz in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
