Gardner stars as Australia thrash the West Indies in Women's T20 World Cup semi-final
Ashleigh Gardner starred with both bat and ball as Australia booked their place in the Women's T20 World Cup final with an eight-wicket thrashing of the West Indies at the Oval on Tuesday.
Set just 126 to win, six-time champions Australia reached their target with exactly seven overs to spare.
Gardner, an off-spinner struck twice in an over on her way to figures of 2-13 in the West Indies' meagre 125-7.
And Gardner, the player of the match, then made 35 not out in the chase, with opener Beth Mooney unbeaten on 61.
Australia, yet to lose a match at this tournament, will face the winners of Thursday's second semi-final, between England and South Africa, in Sunday's final at Lord's.
